Edit Maryhill between Queen Margaret Drive and St Georges Cross
Maryhill Road. Billi Ramsay
I intend to add photographs and hope people will comment on the area.
the backcourts in maryhill road are a disgrace they are my backs
they are my backs when was this picture took
I only see beauty in the construction and think about the skilled tradesmen who built the housing, if only todays craftsmen paid the same attentiion to detail.
The backcourts in these pictures are better looking than they were in my day,and the drying areas are better kept to. I dare say the rubbish bins are in better condition to as in my time the Middens as they were called were a disgrace. The photos shown are all very different to when I was living in Hinshaw St, but I think the housing has been very well upgraded.
List you name if you played for Maryhill juniors tell us you previous team and later teams you were with, including dates. Any photographs would be good.
Why is there never any old photos of Garscube Road (Gaspipe) between Queens Cross & the old Firhill Bar? Every photo I have seen of that area always stops at Queen Cross and veers off to the right, down Maryhill road. Never along Garscube road. I was born at 813 Garscube road in 1946 and lived there until 1955. Those were happy days :-)
